Green Walls Living Walls Does moss cause structural damage to walls?

Question by Chaotika: Does moss cause structural damage to walls?
I know that climbing plants are bad for walls because root-like systems push and crumble the mortar, but what about moss? I don’t know if it would grow the same way. I recently read about deliberately growing moss on walls as an “green” alternative to graffiti. I kinda want to give it a try (on a wall I PERSONALLY OWN), but not if it’ll cause long-term problems.

It can hold moisture against the wall, which in turn can cause structural damage.
