Question by Jordan: How does an officially recognized refugee in the US apply for a green card?
I tutor a Burmese guy who is hoping to get his green card. He has lived here for 3 months, and has been working for about a month and a half. He has Social Security and his I-94. How would he go about getting a green card?

He should ask the State Department or the INS for advice.
What he does NOT want to do is anything that can permanently compromise his right to seek permanent status.
